EASTER EVE (Duck Race Day)

Not to be confused with Easter Saturday!

It is known by various other names such as:-

Holy Saturday (Latin: Sabbatum Sanctum), the Saturday of Holy Week, also known as Holy and Great Saturday, the Great Sabbath, Black Saturday, Joyous Saturday, or Easter Eve, and called "Joyous Saturday" or "the Saturday of Light" among Coptic Christians, is the day after Good Friday. It is the day before Easter and the last day of Holy Week in which Christians prepare for Easter. It commemorates the day that Jesus' body lay in the tomb and the Harrowing of Hell.

Usual Geocaching Event Items

The Log Book to sign to say you attended if you want to sign it
A box into which Travel Bugs and Coins can be placed for discovery or swapping
People to answer questions about the pastime
People to answer questions about caches that are eluding you

Event Specific Items

At Maidenbower Pond, Billinton Drive, Maidenbower, Crawley.
It is an outdoor event, from 14:30 to 16:00
Wear appropriate clothing
There will be a shelter, not neccasarily big enough for everyone
There is a Car Parking in nearby streets
Consult the hint and ensure that it can be identified to the owner
There will be a reward for the winner
From the TOTT rack, a 2440mm garden cane, two push. prod bank bound ducks into the main stream

The Duck Race Course will be the same as used in 2019 & 2020, water levels permitting, this involves a short walk to the Start

It is likely that there will be two races

The finish of the race is at the Event Icon, where there will be all the Event Equipment

In the liturgy of Western Christianity it is the last day of Easter Week, sometimes referred to as the Saturday of Easter Week or Saturday in Easter Week. Easter Saturday is the day preceding the Octave Day of Easter (also known as St. Thomas Sunday or Divine Mercy Sunday).

Ducks

This Duck Race is for Attendees that bring a Duck and this Duck is to be Plastic / Rubber Ducks about 100mm Long (A Standard Bathtime Duck)

In previous years we have had some "Emergency Ducks" - Piece of Wood, analysis of the results has shown these have an unfair advantage, therefore they will ot be allowed or used

If you care to submit a picture of your racing duck when you submit your "Will Attend" it would be greatly appreciated

It will give an idea of this years competitors

There are number of External Travel Bug Ducks, they maybe of non proscribed size, what makes them eligible is that they have Travel Bugs attached to them and I have found them in a cache or at an event and have hung onto them for this race.
