Come out to help clean some basura (trash) from a small part of the bosque, officially part of the Rio Grande Valley State Park - "managed cooperatively by the city Open Space Division and the Middle Rio Grande Conservancy District."
This CITO event runs from 10:00 to 11:30 or so, giving you time to shop early or sleep in! Any time you can spend helps!
Garbage bags and some water will be provided. I will also bring non-latex plastic gloves if needed. Bring grabbers, buckets, extra water, and gloves if you want them. Sun protection is recommended even this time of year and and closed-toe footwear is a must.
Posted coordinates are for parking and gathering. This is on the southwest corner of the bridge, Bridge Street here is now known as Avenida Dolores Huerta SW. You must be heading eastbound to safely access it.
Of course all logging attendees will earn the background Cache In Trash Out® CITO 2021 Season 2 souvenir!
This is also a great opportunity to find this year's exclusive Let’s improve the outdoors - Locationless Cache and get the rare Locationless icon that was made a legacy cache type in 2006. So much for my (probably not) forthcoming Challenge cache requiring a Locationless Cache find.
