The National Geodetic Network is one of the infrastructures that support all the country's cartography, as well as projects where it is necessary to accurately georeference geographic information.
It is found by around 8600 geodetic vertices (7973 in mainland territory, 523 in the Azores Archipelago and 108 in the Madeira Archipelago), mostly materialized by geodetic landmarks.
