Parking is at the posted coordinates, a parking lot/trail for the South Fork trail, part of the Carolina Thread trail system.
We are in the midst of the second 2021 CITO season (September through November), and I wanted to be sure there was at least one local CITO opportunity for the Greater Charlotte area to get the CITO 2021 Season 2 souvenir. To that end, we'll be doing trash pickup along the South Fork Trail right near McAdenville. I expect we'll find a fair amount in the first section that goes under I-85.
I will provide trash bags & water bottles, and have a few extra pairs of gloves available first come, first serve. Please bring work gloves, although I will have a few backup pairs in case. I do not have any trash pickers, so please BYO if you want to utilize one. There is no need for safety vests, as we will not be working near the road (except to cross to the next section of trail). Please follow all local, state, and federal guidelines around COVID-19.
