Monk-E Arms was preparing to host this year's WWFM event behind Canada's Maple Leaf Curtain when he realized he would be in southern Illinois the next day. So his travel schedule now benefits you as he instead hosts a WWFM for the second time in SLAGA land. (For the historically curious, WWFM X - May the Fourth Be With You, SLAGA-style was his first.)
For the group photo, bring a penguin with you to include in the picture.
(If you don't have a penguin, or you don't have penguin clothing, feel free to bring a photo of a penguin to hold up for the camera.)
Schedule
(IMPORTANT NOTE - Originally this was published at Forest Park.
However I was unaware that the Great Forest Park Balloon Race will also be that day.
Therefore I re-located my event to Tilles Park. Sorry for any confusion!)
12 noon - assemble at Ground Zero and sign log
12:15 - group photo
12:20 - prize drawing
12:30 - continue to socialize or head on to your next cache, task for the day, lunch, or whatever.
COVID-19 Statement: We are still in a global pandemic. If you are feeling sick or have been exposed to someone with Covid-19, I respectfully ask that you not attend. There will be more events to attend in the future.
Regulations could change, so I will monitor the situation and update the cache page if necessary. Because this is outdoors, I encourage you to use your best judgment during the event concerning what you are comfortable with in regards to physical distancing and the wearing of masks. I ask that we all respect each others individual choices.
Have fun and stay safe!
About WWFM
WWFM – World Wide Flash Mobs – A fun and friendly way to promote geocaching around the world.
Thousands of geocachers at dozens of coordinated events spanning the globe, gathering at the same time.
Sonny and Sandy of the PodCacher podcast came up with the WWFM idea in 2007 after attending a mega-event. It was meant to be a fun “opposite” of a mega-event: all the cool aspects of a geocaching event, crammed into 15 minutes of excitement. An added dimension is represented by the letters "WW" - World Wide - these events occur across the planet on the same day at (mostly) the same time! These caching events are intended to bring geocachers together in a creative way, as well as introduce others (newbies) to the hobby.
Check out the History of the Geocaching WWFM events.
