This cache is placed in the vicinity of Stóri-Hellir.
It is a cave in Hellisskógur in Selfoss Iceland. In the past, the Stóri-Hellir cave was believed to be haunted. A phantom with a blue scarf was often seen. The story goes that a young man with a broken heart hung himself here in a long blue scarf. The cave was previously used to store hay, with sheep kept in the front. The cliff is made of around 0.7 - 3.1 million year old basalt. The cave was formed at interglacial time by sea erotion. Sea levels have several times being higher than now and signs of sea erosion can be seen on more cliffs in the area.
The cache is in a transparant box with a grey lit. We left some goodies to trade with.
