Geocache Description:

05 September 2021, 11:00 - 12:00

OK here we go with out first ever event, so why not a CITO as well? Having just come back from the Lincoln Mega, and attended the first KCCMM in many a month we have decided to step up and hold the September event.

The aim of this CITO is to walk the tide line, holding a beach clean at Kingsdown Beach. The co-ordinates will take you to a recently placed District Council initiative of publicly available litter bags and pickers. I will endeavour to get more as well, but if attendees can bring their own pickers or gloves that would be appreciated. I will be providing bags from a local littler picking group that can be left for collection without being considered fly tipping. Litter left on the beach can include discarded fishing tackle, so gloves are a good idea. High tide is 11 am, so the tide will be beginning to recede.

Parking near GZ involves driving down a pebble access road and is a popular spot if the weather is fine , but you can park on the main road and walk down.

The bonus is the start place is also right next door to a well known "on the beach" hostelry which could be a welcome source of liquid refreshment after. Meals can also be obtained there, but you need to book in advance. Failing that I will bring doughnuts!

AND another bonus is if you don't already have it you can take a photo and claim GC8NEAT a souvenir and locationless cache too. So, what's not to like? Come along and get plenty of caching value for money.

NOTE. This will be right next to the sea, and so all cachers attending will need to be aware of this and take necessary care

I've been asked about dogs on the beach. I've checked with the District Council web site. The summer time ban on dogs includes Deal beach as far as Walmer but NOT Kingsdown beach..
