O principezinho e a raposa
O Fanal é a serra mais emblemática do concelho do Porto Moniz. Caracteriza-se pela reunião transcendente de Tis milenares, uma das árvores pertencentes à floresta Laurissilva, que com as suas formas extravagantes, únicas, desiguais e de inigualável beleza dão origem a um bosque encantado repleto de mistério, surrealismo e magia. Devido às suas características singulares a serra do fanal recebeu o Galardão de Património Mundial Natural da Unesco.
Todos os lugares mágicos encobrem surpresas e segredos, assim, no inverno ou aquando de intensas chuvas, este bosque encantado transforma-se numa lagoa ímpar em toda a ilha, denominada “lagoa do fanal”, que tem tanto de bela como de admirável.

A lagoa do fanal com a sua envolvência transcendente foi testemunha do brotar de uma amizade mágica e cativante, que transformou para sempre a nossa forma de viver, sentir e ser verdadeiro amigo. Desde então, este lugar transformou-se numa metáfora do amor genuíno, surreal, improvável e resiliente que nos une. Assim, como ninguém esquecerá a sua passagem por este lugar, inspiramo-nos neste local para que a nossa amizade se torne igualmente marcante e memorável. Assim, esta geocache foi feita com o objetivo de homenagear todos aqueles, que como nós, acreditam e têm o privilégio de viver uma verdadeira amizade e ser todos os dias responsável por aqueles que cativou. Desta feita, desejamos que os geocachers não só contemplem a beleza e magia deste lugar mas essencialmente que partilhem esse momento com os seus amigos, família e pessoas especiais que tenham feito a diferença na vossa vida. The little prince and the fox
Fanal is the most emblematic mountain range of Porto Moniz. It is characterized by the transcendent gathering of millenarians Tis, one of the trees belonging to the Laurissilva forest, which with its extravagant, unique, unequal shapes and unparalleled beauty give rise to an enchanted forest full of mystery, surrealism and magic. Due to its unique characteristics, fanal received the Unesco World Natural Heritage Award.
All magical places hide surprises and secrets, so, in winter or during heavy rains, this enchanted forest becomes a unique lagoon throughout the island, called “lagoa do fanal”, which is as beautiful as it is admirable.
