Geocache Description:

31 July 2021, 09:00 - 09:30

Reed2ME has acquired what has affectionately come to be called The Geocachers Playground. Mama bought land as a backyard for geocaching fun to paint containers outside, camp, and have geocaching adventures.  Geocachers Playground Part 2 Exploring is an event for those that enjoy learning about a new part of Maine!  Central Maine is an area that can become a fond meeting place for our northern and southern geocachers to come camp together!  The Lakes Region has four lakes and many other areas for outdoor fun!

The Paris River Park Community Event from 11:00 to 1:00 is being held about an hour from the Geocachers Playground. Geocachers have many options today! Drop gear and go to Paris River Park, kayaking, swimming, geocaching, and many other activities.

Mama and Chris have worked this land for some time to get the property to the point of having geocachers over.  We intend to move there one day but until then, we would like to make some fond memories on the property.  There are many spots to set up a tent, however, you will need to weed your spot from what has grown in since excavation.  The good news is, once your spot is claimed, you are welcome to put your tent there for the weekend.  This will be a weekend of dry camping, cache in/trash out, BYOB as in bring your own bucket for personal waste.  There will be opportunities for hiking, kayaking, cycling, and camping.  Mama needs supervision as she completes projects on the land!

We will meet at the Park and Ride to determine the number of cars for parking purposes. This is a half-hour event to get the day started with plenty of time to set up your tent.  Cots are recommended as Maine is the rock and root state and The Geocachers Playground is no exception to that claim.  Swimming after setting up camp is recommended as browntail moths, poison ivy, and ticks are all possibilities in the Maine woods this season.  Let's keep this party going!
