Boot throwing – Stövelkastning - Saappaanheitto

Boot throwing has a long and glorious history in Finland. Men throw a rubber boot of size 43 and women a 38. There are no rules of how the boot should be thrown, but the boot should be upright when in the air. World championships attract competitors from around the world. In 2014 a new men’s record for teams was set, 291,15m.

World record for women’s individual is 49,35m and for men 68,03m.
