Be at the Flinn Reserve parking lot on Boxcartown Road at 9:30AM Saturday, July 10th for a group photo, then explore both the reserve and the Lyons Run Watershed Association property across the road. The trail will tell the story of the area’s mining history. We'll wrap up the event at the start coordinates at 11:30am with a discussion of Westmoreland Conservancy's plans for the future development of the greenway. Please bring a camp chair to sit back and relax during the group discussion. Visitors are free to continue exploring the reserve and greenway area.
There are no public facilities on the reserve, however there are a few fast food restaurants and gas stations within 2 miles of the location.
The trail includes 2 pre-existing caches owned by Babynubbins & Drunkin Monkeys, then extends along the Lyons Run Watershed Association property to explore the future AM remediation site. The trail terrain is rugged and challenging, but also beautiful and full of local history. We think you'll enjoy the story! It is not necessary to take the trail on the Flinn Reserve to attend the event. Hope to see you there.
