都道府県魅力度ランキング2020最下位の栃木県ですが、ジオキャッシングではとても魅力的な県です。旧栃木県と宇都宮県が合併し栃木県が誕生した6月15日を記念して、2021年の県民の日に栃木にゆかりのあるジオキャッシャーが募りキャッシュを公開しました。

The 15th June is Tochigi Citizens’ Day. Tochigi Prefecture was established on June 15, 1873 with the merger of Tochigi Prefecture and Utsunomiya Prefecture. Celebrating this day, Geocachers loved Tochigi have published caches.

The original hot spring of Nasu Onsen, Shikanoyu, is said to have been opened in the first half of the 7th century, about 1,300 years ago, during the reign of Emperor Jomei. A man named Kano Saburo Yukihiro was hunting in the mountains when he chased a deer deep into the mountains.Then he found the deer was healing the wound in the hot spring and named it "Shikanoyu".
那須温泉元湯・鹿の湯は、七世紀前半、約千三百年前の舒明（じょめい）天皇の御世に開湯されたといわれます。 狩野三郎行広という者が山狩の際に、射損じて逃げる鹿を追って山奥に入ると、鹿は傷ついた体を温泉で癒していました。
そこで鹿によって発見された「鹿の湯」と名づけたと伝えられています。
