Voici ma première cache
La commune de Val-de-Vesle a été créée en 1965 par la fusion de trois communes jusque-là indépendantes : Courmelois, Thuisy et Wez.
Je souhaitais vous faire découvrir mon quartier, vous voici à Courmelois.
Il est assez petit donc vous en aurez rapidement fais le tour à pied ou en vélo.
Une petite carte avec les points d’intérêt vont vous guider
ce petit quartier ce trouve entre canal et rivière. Le canal de l’Aisne à la Marne est un canal à bief de partage, reliant les vallées de l'Aisne et de la Marne. Long de 58,109 km, il comporte 24 écluses dont 1 se trouvant à courmelois.
Vous pouvez emprunter « la coulée verte » qui est un aménagement de l'ancien chemin de hallage qui vous permettra d'arriver facilement à reims en vélo (environ 17 km), tout en profitant du canal.
Vous pouvez également admiré une magnifique église du XII et XIII èmes siècles au cœur du quartier. L’édifice présente un plan en croix latine. L'église présente un chœur du 13e siècle du gothique rayonnant. L'église est partiellement détruite au lendemain de la première guerre mondiale. Elle est classée en totalité en 1920, puis la Commission approuve le déclassement de la nef deux ans plus tard. L'architecte Paul Bouchette peut donc reconstruire la nef. Le transept, le chœur et le clocher sont remis en état sous la direction de l'architecte des monuments historiques Bernard Haubold entre 1923 et 1924, année au cours de laquelle Haubold doit constater l'effondrement des voûtes du chœur. Paul Bouchette reconstruit en 1925 la nef, qu'il voûte en pierre et entraine la construction de contreforts puissants. Les travaux s'achèvent avec la consolidation des élévations sud suite à la démolition de la sacristie en 1935.
Depuis 1985 l'église devient un centre d'art et d'exposition. L'architecte des monuments historiques Jean-Paul Jouve est chargé entre 1986 et 1990 d'assurer le clos et le couvert de l'édifice.

Dans la rue principale vous trouverez l'ancienne mairie qui était devenue une école primaire fut un temps.
Le château de la Comtesse Charlotte
A l'abris des arbres et au bord de la vesle vous trouverez le camping municipal de val de vesle. Avec ses 79% d'étrangers j'espère que certains visiteront ma cache ;)
Il a ouvert en 1967.
Vous trouverez également un petit parc d'attraction et atelier d'un artiste à la reconnaissance mondiale connu pour ses œuvres représentant de grande forme humaine de bois calcinée.

Here is my first cache
The municipality of Val-de-Vesle was created in 1965 by the merger of three previously independent municipalities: Courmelois, Thuisy and Wez.
I wanted you to discover my neighborhood, here you are in Courmelois.
It is quite small so you can quickly walk or cycle around it.

this small district is located between canal and river. The Aisne à la Marne canal is a channel with a division reach, connecting the valleys of the Aisne and the Marne. 58.109 km long, it has 24 locks, including 1 located in Courmelois.
You can take "la coulée verte" which is a development of the old hallage path which will allow you to easily reach Reims by bike (about 17 km), while enjoying the canal.
You can also admire a magnificent 12th and 13th century church in the heart of the district. The building has a Latin cross plan. The church features a 13th century choir of radiant Gothic style. The church was partially destroyed after the First World War. It was completely classified in 1920, then the Commission approved the decommissioning of the nave two years later. The architect Paul Bouchette can therefore rebuild the nave. The transept, the choir and the bell tower were rehabilitated under the direction of the architect of historic monuments Bernard Haubold between 1923 and 1924, the year in which Haubold had to observe the collapse of the vaults of the choir. Paul Bouchette rebuilt the nave in 1925, which he vaulted in stone and led to the construction of powerful buttresses. The works are completed with the consolidation of the southern elevations following the demolition of the sacristy in 1935.
Since 1985 the church has become an art and exhibition center. The architect of historical monuments Jean-Paul Jouve was responsible between 1986 and 1990 to ensure the enclosure and cover of the building.
In the main street you will find the old town hall which was once a primary school.
The castle of Countess Charlotte
Sheltered by the trees and at the edge of the vesle you will find the municipal campsite of val de vesle. With its 79% foreigners, I hope that some will visit my cache;)
It opened in 1967.
You will also find a small amusement park and workshop of a world-renowned artist known for his large human form works of charred wood.
And a marsh rich in biodiversity, be careful there are many dangerous animals and poisonous plants if you have geodog and small geocachers.
Take care of the cache to make the most of it and remain discreet
Peaceful and calm days are spent here so take 5 minutes to sit down and regain your strength in your long quest to geocache.
