Are you a newbie to sharing your geocaching adventures and photos on social media? Maybe you’re comfortable posting on Facebook but Instagram has you befuddled. This is the crash course you need! Come enjoy an overview on these topics and bring your questions!
Now that we have tidied up our state a bit with CITOs, it's back to our usual monthly get together in May! We will be at Picnic Shelter #1 at Chattahoochee Bend State Park. The park is between Newnan and Carrollton and you'll enjoy a beautiful ride once past either town on your way to the park.
The State Park site says it best: "Chattahoochee Bend State Park showcases a spectacular tract of wilderness in northwest Coweta County. Located in a graceful bend of the Chattahoochee River, the park is a haven for paddlers, campers and anglers. At 2,910 acres, Chattahoochee Bend is one of Georgia’s largest state parks, protecting five miles of river frontage."
Be sure to find the State Park cache for your passport while you are here! Also, we will have a fun game to play (What's the Secret Word?!) as well and announcements about our upcoming BIRTHDAY and other 2021 events.
Note that masks are still encouraged and the State Parks site says "we need everyone’s help in social distancing and following guidelines."
Also, the current statement on the park page says, "Chattahoochee Bend has occasionally experienced large crowds on weekends. If parking fills to capacity, park staff may temporarily limit access to ensure social distancing and protect the health of the public and our employees. Please understand that park access may be restricted by the time you arrive. This applies only to day-use; those with reservations may enter." THE GGA EVENT HAS A RESERVATION so if the park is limiting entry when you arrive, let them know you are part of the GGA and our reserved event is at Picnic Shelter #1.
There is no charge to attend the event; however, there is a $5 parking fee if you do not have a current Georgia State Parks Pass. See you there!!
