I was out doing some cache maintenance down along the Iowa Riverfront when I noticed all this trash. The area was covered with trash from the trail down to the river bank. It’s probably left over from the recent flooding. This area is too nice to just leave this trash here. The CITO zone is on the Iowa riverfront just south of Tom Hanafan River’s Edge Park (see the map below). There are lot of overgrowth and spots with soft, muddy ground. Hence, the T3.0 rating.
There are standard trash receptacles in the adjacent parking lot. I recommend bringing several smaller bags instead of large trash bags.
I recommend bringing a little drinking water, gloves, grabbers or pickup sticks. I’ll bring some small plastic bags for depositing trash in but feel free to bring full-size trash bags if you’re enterprising.
Enjoy and good hunting!
