PANORAMA DU PRE-THOMAS

Pour certains scientifiques, d'un point de vue géographique et géologique, la Bourgogne a un centre mais point de frontière.

De notre point de vue, intéressons nous aux caps visibles.

La Bourgogne  est entourée au  Sud  Est par le Fossé Bressan, qui lui même borde les Alpes par son extrémité Ouest. Celui-ci crée une coupure franche entre les reliefs bourguignons et les formes  jurassiennes et ses buttes calcaires.

Au Nord Est le Trias des Vosges, avec ses formes plus ramollies, s'inscrit  quant à lui dans la continuité du Seuil de Bourgogne.

Quant à Dijon, la capitale bourguignonne est-elle même située au carrefour du quaternaire, marquant la fin de la plaine alluviale (le Bas-pays) et les gradins calcaires de la Côte ( la Montagne).

L'originalité de ce point de vue, légèrement excentré,  permet de situer les pourtours de la Bourgogne et au passage la place de Dijon à l'intérieur de cette entité.

For some scientists, from a geographical and geological point of view, Burgundy has a center but no border.

From our point of view, let's take a look at the visible headings.

Burgundy is surrounded to the south-east by the Fossé Bressan, which itself borders the Alps at its western end. This creates a clear cut between the Burgundian reliefs and the Jura forms and its limestone mounds.

In the North East, the Triassic des Vosges, with its softer forms, is part of the continuity of the Seuil de Bourgogne.

As for Dijon, the Burgundian capital is itself located at the crossroads of the Quaternary, marking the end of the alluvial plain (the Low Country) and the limestone steps of the Coast (the Mountain).

The originality of this point of view, slightly off-center, allows to locate the periphery of Burgundy and in passing the place of Dijon within this entity.
