As the New Brunswick Winter Caching Tournament (WINCAT) is reaching the end, it is time to plan the wrap-up and bid farewell to our inaugural WINCAT. It is open to all geocachers, but due to PNB guidelines in affect at time of publishing, only 50 will be permitted to attend. Priority will be given to those cachers who registered and their guest to attend. So save the date Saturday 17 April 2021 (which should give the WINCAT Committee time to finalize scores and select Task Favourites!!).
Although Chris Noel has been stressing that this is all about getting outdoors and having fun doing the hobby we all enjoy, there will be prizes awarded. Through the kindness of family, friends and fellow cachers including PHD Coins and milosheart, we at WINCAT have amassed prizes for all contestants (I hope!!). Probably more treasure than they will ever find on Oak Island!!
Cachers have asked if we will live stream and I am confident we will be able to do this. So with permission from NB Geocaching Welcome Centre on FB, we will attempt that. Look for an announcement on WINCAT – THE FINALE.
1200 - 1245 hrs Meet & Greet
1245 - 1300 hrs Discussion & Suggestions for Improvement
1300 - 1345 hrs Presentations
1345 - 1400 hrs Final Thoughts
On behalf of the WINCAT Committee this has been a fun experience for me reading the logs, answering your questions and making sure that your Task Claim was approved. Thanks to all the folks who we leaned on to make this happen. Most importantly, those who participated and said we won’t let the Pandemic get us down.
May the cache be ever in your favour!
