O moinho é uma instalação destinada à fragmentação ou pulverização de materiais em bruto, especificamente grãos de trigo ou de outros cereais, por meio de mós.
O seu aparecimento representou uma grande inovação na história da humanidade, tendo se difundido por outras regiões através do fluxo de pessoas (artesões, monges, mercadores e navegadores) para outros locais.
Há dois grandes grupos de moinhos tradicionais, que se classificam pela fonte da energia utilizada para fazer mover a mó:
- Moinhos de vento são todos aqueles moinhos que utilizam o vento como fonte de energia, a chamada "energia eólica".
- Moinhos de água são os moinhos que fazem uso da água corrente (energia hidráulica).
Neste local ainda se pode observar as ruinas do antigo moinho, a sua levada e as duas entradas de agua no edifício.

The mill is a facility intended for the fragmentation or pulverization of raw materials, specifically grains of wheat or other cereals, by means of grinding wheels.
Its appearance represented a major innovation in human history, having spread to other regions through the flow of people (artisans, monks, merchants, and sailors) to other places.
There are two major groups of traditional mills, which are classified by the source of the energy used to move the millstone:
- Windmills are all those mills that use the wind as a source of energy, so-called "wind power".
- Water mills are those mills that make use of running water (hydraulic energy).
On this site you can still see the ruins of the old mill, its levada, and the two water intakes in the building.
