TOTU: Trails of the Unconfirmed!

This cache is one stop on a circuit that leads you around about 8 miles of Romney Marsh, taking in Old Romney, a huge solar farm, a potato farm, White Kemp sewer, Coldharbour Petty sewer and numerous fields, footpaths and tracks. Ideally you will need to start from Old Romney and follow the series from there. The walk has been set up to follow a clockwise direction due with the inclusion of a number of multi caches. Parking can be found in and around the village of Old Romney, but please be considerate to the residents.

The route is primarily along well warn footpaths, but please be aware that you will be out in the marshlands and some sections may become overgrown during some seasons. There are several stiles to cross and field boundaries to follow. I would recommend long trousers and good footwear. Taking some gloves might also be a good idea as the stingers and the thorns in the area can be quite vicious!

There are two points in the circuit where you will need to cross the A259. The road is busy and traffic moves fast so please be careful. There are also a few short sections along quiet lanes... and if you find yourself in a field please watch out for machinery and livestock! You will also find yourself crossing railway tracks during the route so again please be careful. No caches are hidden on railway property so don't be tempted to search there.

I would not recommend walking this series after dark. The marsh can be an unforgiving place, there are deep, water filled ditches among other hazards are waiting anyone who strays too far from the footpath.
