The United States Army Airborne School – widely known as Jump School – conducts the basic paratrooper (military parachutist) training for the United States armed forces. It is operated by the 1st Battalion (Airborne), 507th Infantry, United States Army Infantry School, Fort Benning, Georgia. The Airborne School conducts the Basic Airborne Course, which is open to troops of both genders from all branches of the United States Department of Defense.
The Parachutist Badge, also commonly referred to as "Jump Wings" is a military badge of the United States Armed Forces. The DoD military services are all awarded the same Basic Parachutist Badge. The U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force issue the same Senior and Master Parachutist Badges while the U.S. Navy and U.S. Marine Corps issue the Navy and Marine Corps Parachutist Badge to advanced parachutists. The majority of the services earn their Basic Parachutist Badge through the U.S. Army Airborne School.
This geocache is dedicated to all members of the United States Armed Forces, all Warfighters, past, present and future.
Remarks:
Geocache has good cover and concealment, is urban masked and is mechanical. Recover the provided TOTT (hook), “Stand up, hook up, ‘look above the door’, jump right out and shout Marine Corps.” The key is provided. Secure the key, open the door, recover the cache, “check canopy, gain canopy control. Ensure you execute a proper parachute landing fall (PLF) when you hit the DZ.
Amplifying remarks:
Leave geocache better than you found it. Cache in, trash out. If you take something, leave something of equal or greater value. Only take trackables if you are willing to log it and keep it moving.
Stay safe, ALWAYS look for snakes, have fun and good luck.
Hint: “Only two things fall from the sky. Bird shit and paratroopers.”
