Geocache Description:

The new Hamesila Park opened its first section in Tel Aviv in October 2020.  When complete, it will connect Nachalat Benyamin street, close to Rothschild, to the beach.  The new park has old origins, as it runs along the lines of the original Jaffa-Jerusalem railroad built under Ottoman rule and used under the British Mandate.  The rail lines can still be seen in the pedestrian walkway.

This is the latest in parks converted from abandoned railways. Hamesila Park in Jerusalem was created over the other end of the Jaffa Jerusalem Railway after citizen successfully campaigned for a park instead of a road, and the High Line in Manhattan is an elevated park was made out of a disused section of the West Side Line. Many say that the High Line has been the inspiration for many cities to create public spaces out of abandoned areas - we can only hope!

A new park means a new cache, and this one is hidden not too far from a place to get some refreshments!  It's in a small plastic container with a magnet. It's not a hard find, but beware of muggles.
