Please note Use of geocaching.com services is subject to the terms and conditions
in our disclaimer.
Cache is in a two gallon white plastic bucket, at the base of the
only white pine tree in the vicinity. The trail is roughly brushed
out and close attention to the trail is the keynote here, it is
through a forested area, not marked but evident if you go
slowly.
The cache is not far from the main trail, down another trail to the
right. Just look for the White Pine tree, to the right, as you
stand at the Y of the two trails.
Take State Hy 77 East from Meadville to the town of New Richmond,
turn right in town, to John Brown Road, go past the ruins of John
Browns Tannery(Historic Site) and turn left on Johnson Road (look
for the red barn on the right.)not far down the road, there is a
marked parking area for State Game Lands, just past it on the right
is another smaller parking area, park there. (41 42.46-079 57.16),
walk down the road 100 ft or so and just past a white post with an
orange sign on your left, there is an evident trail heading NNE
about 40-50 degrees, follow that through the woods until you come
to a Y (41 42.64 - 079 57.08), take the right trail, about 50-75
feet down the trail, on the right side, there is a White Pine tree
with three trunks, and next to that a single tree. Cache is in a
two gallon white sealed bucket at the base of the triple trunk
tree. Contents, bag of pencils, sharpener, log book, crayons,
chalk. 10-10-02 On a sad note, Brian, one of our group, has
succombed to cancer since the cache was placed. We would like to
think this cache would be a memorial to him, his spirit lives on in
the memories we all have of this wonderful man. He has enriched all
of our lives and will be missed by all of us. He lived not far from
here, and brought us to this place to leave the cache. Brian is the
middle person in the picture.
A few other notes to would be
seekers:

Gamelands .
