La Cour d’Enchère, een gehuchtje behorende tot de gemeente St. Palais in het departement Allier.
Letterlijk vertaald betekent de naam van dit gehucht: veilinghof of veilingplaats. Maar in de geschiedenis is niets van deze activiteit terug te vinden. De naam is waarschijnlijk een verbastering van het Cour des chers: Hof van de geliefden/naasten.
Het gehuchtje bestaat uit enkele huizen en een camping, b&b en gîtes.
Wij waren hier op vakantie en de eigenaars leek het erg leuk om een geocache bij hun terrein te hebben.
Om de cache te vinden moet je enkele meters het terrein op. De eigenaar vindt dit geen probleem. Je kunt er ook nog een kopje koffie gaan drinken.

La Cour d'Enchère, hameau de la commune de Saint-Palais dans le département de l'Allier.
Traduit littéralement, le nom de ce hameau signifie: cour de vente aux enchères ou lieu de vente aux enchères. Mais rien de cette activité ne se trouve dans l'histoire. Le nom est probablement une corruption de la Cour des chers: Cour des amants.
Le hameau se compose de quelques maisons et d'un camping, chambres d'hôtes et gîtes. Nous étions ici en vacances et les propriétaires ont pensé que ce serait très amusant d'avoir une géocache sur leur propriété.
Pour trouver la cache, vous devez entrer sur le terrain de quelques mètres. Le propriétaire ne trouve pas cela un problème.

La Cour d’Enchère, a hamlet belonging to the municipality of St. Palais in the Allier department.
Literally translated, the name of this hamlet means: auction yard or auction place. But nothing of this activity can be found in history. The name is probably a corruption of the Cour des chers: Court of the lovers / relatives.
The hamlet consists of a few houses and a campsite, b & b and gîtes. We were here on vacation and the owners thought it would be great fun to have a geocache on their property.
To find the cache you have to enter the terrain a few meters. The owner does not find this a problem.
