The coordinates should take you to a War Memorial to members of staff of The Maryport & Carlisle Railway who were killed in The Great War. To work out the location of the final, which is only a short walk away, you need to count up various things on the memorial, as detailed below, and put the answers into these partial coordinates
N54 42. Q1 Q2 Q3 W03 29. Q4 Q5 Q6
Q1: number of staff from Maryport Station.
Q2: number of Signalmen + number of Plate-layers.
Q3: number of Clerks + number of Porters.
Q4: number of staff in the Border Regiment.
Q5: number of Plate-layers + staff from Aspatria Station + number in the Royal Flying Corps.
Q6: number of staff from Wigton Station + Carlisle Station staff + number in Royal Army Medical Corps + number of Gunners.
The War Memorial was originally located on the platform side of Maryport Station building. In the 1970's the Station was redeveloped (I think that means replaced by a bus shelter) and the memorial was moved to Memorial Garden. The town memorial is located close by. A total of 135 employees joined the armed services during the Great War. The memorial was unveiled on November 28th 1920.
