Le 24 mai 2011, un mur tombé du ciel percuta la ville de Nantes.
Il ne s'agissait bien évidemment pas d'un phénomène surnaturel ou astronomique, mais d'une oeuvre de Royal de Luxe, dans le cadre de l'Année du Mexique en France. En plus de ses géants habituels, la compagnie de spectacle de rue a érigé un mur décoré d’une fresque à la manière du peintre mexicain Diego Rivera, représentant des personnages historiques, pittoresques, sites et événements de la cité de Nantes.
Originellement installé pour 3 jours (le temps du spectacle) place de la Bourse, en bas de la rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau, l'oeuvre a plu et a donc été pérennisée. Mais l’architecte des bâtiments de France a refusé qu’il reste planté en plein Nantes du 18e siècle, il a donc déménagé au début de la chaussée de la Madeleine, où il se trouve toujours.
La boite n'est pas aux coordonnées de la cache. Pour la trouver, vous devrez trouver l'emplacement (et donc le numéro associé sur l'image ci-dessus) des personnages suivants :
- A - Jean-Marc Ayrault (1950) Maire de Nantes au moment de la création du mur (de 1989 à 2012), Premier Ministre sous François Hollande. Durant ses mandats, il a toujours défendu une politique culturelle très active.
- B - Tour de Bretagne (1976) La 3e plus haute tour de bureaux de province. Du haut de ses 144m, il parait que l'on aperçoit l'océan par beau temps.
- C - Pierre-Joseph Colin (1784 - 1848) Industriel alimentaire. Après avoir adopté la méthode de stérilisation de Nicolas Appert, il inventa tout bonnement la sardine à l'huile en boite et fit fortune.
- D - Georges Courtois (1947 - 2019) Criminel en direct. En 1985, au cours de son procès, il prend en otage la cour d'Assise de Nantes sous les yeux des Français devant leur téléviseur. Il se rendra et écopera de 20 ans de prison.
- E -Aristide Briand (1862 - 1932) Politicien onze fois président du conseil et diplomate français. Il reçut le prix Nobel de la Paix en 1928 pour son action de réconciliation entre la France et l'Allemagne.
- F - Couture de boites de sardines Tradition portuaire nantaise. Les marins à quai avaient pour coutume de coudre à la main leurs propres boites de sardines, et ce malgré l'invention de Pierre-Joseph Colin.
- G - Willy Wolf (1898 - 1925) Trompe-la-mort, avant-gardiste. Le 31 mai 1925, devant une foule de badauds et les caméras de la Gaumont, Willy Wolf fait des acrobaties et plonge du haut du pont transbordeur. On retrouvera son corps 6 jours plus tard au Pellerin.

On May 24, 2011, a wall fell from the sky and hit the city of Nantes.
It was obviously not a supernatural or astronomical phenomenon, but a work of Royal de Luxe, as part of the Year of Mexico in France. In addition to its usual giants, the street performance company has erected a wall decorated with a mural in the manner of the Mexican painter Diego Rivera, representing historical, picturesque figures, sites and events of the city of Nantes.
Originally installed for 3 days (the duration of the show) at Place de la Bourse, at the bottom of Rue Jean-Jacques Rousseau, the work was pleasant and was therefore perennial. But the architect of the buildings of France refused to allow it to remain planted in the middle of Nantes of the 18th century, so it has been moved at the beginning of the Chaussée de la Madeleine, where it still is.
To get the right coordinates, you need to find the position (therefore the associated number in the image above) of the following characters:
- A - Jean-Marc Ayrault (1950) Mayor of Nantes when the wall has been created (from 1989 to 2012), François Hollande's Prime Minister. He always promoted active cultural politics.
- B - Tour de Bretagne (1976) The 3rd highest office tower of the province. From its 144m high top, it seems that you can see the ocean when the weather is good.
- C - Pierre-Joseph Colin (1784 - 1848) Food manufacturer. He used the sterilisatio technics developed by Nicolas Appert to invent the sardine cans.
- D - Georges Courtois (1947 - 2019) Live criminal. In 1985, during his trial, he took took hostage the assize court of Nantes in front of the eyes of the French people watching TV. He surrendered and was sentenced to 20 years of prison.
- E -Aristide Briand (1862 - 1932) 11 times Council president politician and French diplomat. He received the Nobel Price for Peace in 1928 for his actions to reconcile France and Germany.
- F - Sardine can sewing Port tradition in Nantes. Dockside sailors used to hand-sew their own sardine cans, despite Pierre-Joseph Colin's invention.
- G - Willy Wolf (1898 - 1925) Daredevil, avant-garde. On May 31, 1925, before a crowd of onlookers and the cameras of the Gaumont, Willy Wolf does acrobatics and dives from the top of the ferry deck. His body will be found 6 days later at the Pellerin.
