WORLD WIDE FLASH MOB 2020
Join in on the fun at this year's World-Wide Flash Mob - being held in Garema Place, Canberra City. This year we want to shake up the city and make a splash of colour.
A Flash Mob is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place,
do something unusual for a brief period of time, and then quickly disperse.
THEME is RED - wear a red shirt or item of clothing to help create a RED SPECTACLE while the Flash Mob is happening. Bring along any red items you can that will add colour and noise to our group - red hats, umbrellas, scarves, cloaks, horns, whatever ! And/or wear a geocaching item - mega shirt, hat or just 'look like a geocacher'...
TIMING:
This year I will ring a bell to mark the start and end of the flash mob.
3.30pm - meet at the cache coordinates - mill around and pretend you don't know other cachers
3.45pm - When the bell rings: meet at the Flash Mob coordinates, sign the log book and make a show of RED
4.00pm - When the bell rings again: cachers are to DISPERSE
Attendees may like to meet up following the event to carry on with chat, swaps and sharing caching stories, but it is important that we move on at 4pm and do not stay at GZ.
Follow up venue for after the flash mob is nearby at a regular refreshment spot - see WP2
The WWFM events have been held annualy since 2007. These events are planned to occur across the planet on the same day at (mostly) the same time! These caching events are intended to bring geocachers together in a creative way, as well as introduce others (newbies) to the hobby. Check out the History of the Geocaching WWFM events.
