Geocache Description:

According to the Imperial War Museum the war memorial in Pentrefelin was made by Mr Owen Jones of Criccieth and unveiled on 1st January 1923, attended by Rev. Hugh Williams. It is within a small walled area, and shaped as a cross.

Close to the war memorial is a standing stone, it is 10 foot/3.5 metres high. There are various stories about how it came to be sprouting from the pavement. One is that it is prehistoric; the other is that a local farmhand brought it home on his way back from the pub, but his mother, refusing to have it in the house, told him to get rid of it somewhere!

To find the geocache container you will need to study the inscription on the war memorial.
