This cache, and its twin (The Desolation) were really placed on a whim - heading into Namadgi park for the first time after the 2020 fires, I'd decided to bring some spare containers and logbooks in case the caches I found were melted beyond recovery. As it turned out, the ones I looked for were still in good nick! But my trek had brought me to the saddle between two little summits and - with two perfectly serviceable caches in my pack, I siezed the opportunity!
Having put a cache atop the burned-out summit in the southeast, it felt only natural to head to the other and place a similar cache here, too. To my surprise, the terrain here was a bit different - the bush here was markedly less burned, and there was quite a bit of green about the old granite tor that crowns the hilltop - hence the name I chose on the fly. There aren't the good views here that you can get from near "The Desolation", but it's also a shorter climb!
