Gurten-Moder Traditional Geocache

Wer sich die Mühe macht den berner Haus"berg" zu Fuss zu erklimmen wird feststellen dass sich neben den gepflegten grösseren Wegen sehr viele kleine Pfade durch den Wald schlängeln. Von diesen aus kann man den Lauf der Natur oft gut beobachten, vom Spriessen eines Baumsamens hin bis zu seinem Tod und der danach folgenden Vermoderung. Im Gurtenwald werden diese modernden Bäume im Gegensatz zu anderen Wäldern oft liegen gelassen und der Lebenszyklus nimmt seinen natürlichen Lauf.

VORSICHT: auf besagten Pfaden sind schnelle Mountain-/Downhillbiker unterwegs!
Ebenfalls empfehlen wir sich auf Zecken zu untersuchen nach einem Ausflug durch die Natur auf dem Gurten.

Whoever goes the extra mile to climb the Gurten (the Hausberg of Berne, altough it's rather a hill than a mountain ;)) by foot will notice many smaller trails winding through the forest. When taking these paths instead of the main tracks you may observe the cycles of nature: starting as freshly sprouted sapling to a full grown tree in all it's glory back down to it's dieback and the moulding of it's remnants. In contrary to many other forests in Switzerland in the forests on the Gurten these remnants often are left to rot back to dirt and the cycle of life takes it's natural course.

CAUTION: there often are fast mountain/downhill-bikers riding on said trails!
We likewise recommend thoroughly checking your body for ticks after venturing through the nature on the Gurten.
