This is the Bonus cache for the McCourtie Park Adventure Lab cache. There is nothing but grass at the posted coordinates, though it is very near the parking area for McCourtie park. off South Jackson Road, just north of US-12, or Chicago Rd as it is called locally.
You must complete the Adventure Lab here at the park to receive the actual coordinates for the cache location. Please respect the park and it's amazing structures and natural beauty.
McCourtie Park has many features of interest to folks of all ages. There are tennis courts, an active disc golf course, a picnic pavilion and some of the most unusual bridges and structures in the state. Each bridge is constructed from concrete, but designed to look like wood. It is interesting to note the each one is designed to look like a different type of wood.
The virtual and physical caches here in the park have been found in just a handful of years by over 1200 people from 11 different countries. There are often weddings here and it is common to see photographers here taking in all the unique and wonderful features of this gorgeous place. The lab cache will take you to just a few of those incredible sights.
Please note, there is a full disc golf course with a league that plays on Thursdays and Sundays. They traverse much of the park, including near some of the bridges. Please be very respectful of their play. They will not likely interrupt your cache hunts here in the park, but be mindful of where you are walking when they are playing.
Permission has been obtained from the Township of Somerset to place caches at McCourtie Park.
