The B&O Trail needs our help!

We’re calling all geocachers to come join us on the west side to help clean it up during our CITO (Cache In, Trash Out) event on Sunday, October 4, 2020, from 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm.

This event is co-hosted by our geocaching community, the Brownsburg Storm Water Department, and the B&O Trail Association.  This helps the Storm Water Department meet their public participation requirements, while helping geocachers and our communities by keeping this wonderful trail with several geocaches in pristine condition!

The posted coordinates are on the trail itself. Parking is nearby on the neighborhood streets. Please check-in at the table for a small meet and greet.  We'll meet at the pavilion at 2pm to pick up supplies and receive instructions.

Provided:

• Trash bags
• Disposable gloves
• Hand sanitizer
• Vests
• Water bottles
• Some trash grabbers may be available.

Please bring trash grabbers if you have any.  Heavy-duty gloves, boots & bug spray are always helpful and highly recommended.  A face mask in the event it ends by being required – I will update as needed. Poison ivy and briars thrive throughout a portion of the area. Most of the area is flat, although there are some inclines and declines alongside the trail.  Be sure to wear appropriate clothing and footwear.  There may be some mud and water beside the trail if it rains prior to the event.

We will clean approximately two miles of trail.  Everyone can do as much as they are able to help out.

Please note in your "will attend" how many members will be in your group so we can bring enough supplies.

Restrooms are not available at the cleanup site.  The nearest one is at the Speedway gas station at Raceway Road and Crawfordsville Road.

If we have severe weather on the day of the event, we will cancel and reschedule.  We'll be monitoring the weather prior to the event and will make any cancellation announcements via a post on this page.
