Erosion
Erosion är den nednötning och transport av berg, jord eller annat material på grund av en mekanisk eller kemisk påverkan. Erosion kan till exempel orsakas av vind, rinnande vatten, vågor, glaciärer, gravitationsrörelser, levande organismer, men även genom massrörelsernas materialtransport nedför sluttningar. Till skillnad från vittring så förutsätter begreppet erosion att det även sker en bortförsel. Erosion är en naturlig process. Den har tillsammans med de tektoniska processerna format jordytan. På många ställen har människan påverkat den (jordbruk, avskogning, överbetning, väg- och järnvägsbygge), vilket oftast inneburit en högre erosionstakt, speciellt ökad vinderosion. Jorderosion kan leda till igenslamning av vattendrag vilket skadar fisk och korallrev, att odlingsytan och näringsämnen försvinner och risk för översvämningar ökar. (Wikipedia)
Vattenerosion
Vattenerosion eller vågerosion som det också kallas är den erosion som med hjälp av havet bryter ner jorden. Vågerosion sker oftast när det blåser mycket och vid öppna stränder. Konsekvensen av den erosion som sker är att vågorna kan skära ut strandhak i strandbrinken.
Vinderosion
VInderosion är den erosion som med hjälp av vninden för bort lösa partiklar från markytan men även på höre höjder. När particklarna (oftast sandkorn) förs med vinden så kan det slipa ned andra stenar m.m
Vid Earthcachen
Här på Marstrand finns väldigt unika och tydliga tecken på erosion. Den erosion som har skett här på Marstrand vid ovanstående koordinater är främst vattenerosion. Vattnet från havet hat slgait upp och format platsen. Här på västkusten vid Marstrand är det främst saltvatten som nötit vilket medför en snabbare erosionshastighet eftersom inte bara vattnet nöter utan även saltet. Marstrand här vid koordinaterna ligger öppet mot vind vilket gjort att även vinderosion har ägt rum på platsen, dock är det inte lika tydligt att se som vattenerosionen på platsen.

Erosion
Erosion is the degradation and transport of rock, soil or other material due to a mechanical or chemical impact. Soil erosion can lead to clogging of watercourses, which damages fish and coral reefs, the cultivation area and nutrients disappear and the risk of floods increases. water erosion
Water erosion or wave erosion as it is also called is the erosion that with the help of the sea breaks down the earth. Wave erosion usually occurs when there is a lot of wind and on open beaches. The consequence of the erosion that occurs is that the waves can cut out beach hooks in the shoreline.
wind erosion
Wind erosion is the erosion that, with the help of the wind, removes loose particles from the ground surface but also at higher altitudes. When the particles (usually sand grains) are carried by the wind, it can grind down other rocks etc.
At the Earthcache
Here at Marstrand there are very unique and clear signs of erosion. The erosion that has taken place here on Marstrand at the above coordinates is mainly water erosion. The water from the sea has opened up and shaped the place. Here on the west coast at Marstrand, it is mainly salt water that has worn, which leads to a faster erosion rate because not only the water wears but also the salt. Marstrand here at the coordinates is open to wind, which has meant that wind erosion has also taken place on the site, however, it is not as clear to see as the water erosion on the place.
