Abbaye Saint Pierre

L'Abbaye de Bourgueil fut fondée en 990 par Emma, épouse de Guillaume duc d'Aquitaine, comte du Poitou. L'Abbaye fut créée afin de réunir les moines déjà présents sur le Bourgueillois en un lieu unique, et selon la règle de Saint Benoît (Bénédictins).
L'emplacement de l'Abbaye ne fut pas choisi au hasard : elle a été construite près de la source du Changeon. Les moines ont ensuite canalisé le ruisseau pour qu'il passe au pied de l'Abbaye afin d'en alimenter le moulin.
La cache que je vous propose est justement placée dans un espace aménagé sur le Changeon, qui vous permet de profiter d'une belle vue sur le côté sud de l'Abbaye.
The Bourgueil Abbey was founded in 990 by Emma, wife of William Duke of Aquitaine, COunt of Poitou. The Abbey was created to bring the monks already present in the Bourgueil area in a unique site, and under the rule of Saint Benedict (Benedictine).
The Abbey location was not chosen by chance: it was built near the Changeon spring. The monks then channelled the stream so that it flowed by the foot of the Abbey, and fed its mills.
The cache that we propose is precisely placed in an area arranged on the Changeon, which allows you to enjoy a beautiful view of the south side of the Abbey.
