Une superbe promenade avec comme point de départ le parc Mauresque surplombant la ville, et comme point final l'observatoire Sainte Cécile.
Et si vous souhaitez faire toute la série, des indices pourront être récupérés dans différentes caches, afin de trouver une GEOCACHE BONUS cachées non loin du point d'arrivée !

Today we propose you to discover the history of the winter townquarter of Arcachon and its awesome houses (over 80 !) with a nice trail of 17 geocaches hidden.
No need to solve impossible riddles here, no need special tools... this adventure is for the whole family !
A nice adventure with the Mauresque parc as starting point, and an amazing viewpoint of Arcachon at the end.
If you decide to complete the serie, some hints can be found in several geocaches, allowing you to find the BONUS GEOCACHE at the end of the trail !

LA VILLA "SIGURD"
Depuis la place Turenne, prenez l'allée André Rebsomen pour admirer la villa Thérésa, puis au bout de la rue, tournez immédiatement à gauche dans l'allée Stella.
A l 'entrée de l'allée , vous découvrez cette magnifique villa, destinée à l'origine à la location.
L'entrepreneur Pierre Blavy l'achète en 1889 et la fait reconstruire sur les plans de Marcel Ormières. La tour avec belvédère date de cette époque.
La villa porta successivement les noms de Nadine, son nom d'origine, puis Shakespeare, Velasquez, et deviendra Sigurd en 1892 en référence à la mythologie scandinave ayant inspiré l'opéra (Sigurd, 1885) du compositeur français Louis Etienne Ernest Reyer.
La villa changea de main à plusieurs reprises pour devenir aujourd'hui une copropriété.
N'hésitez pas à faire le tour de celle-ci pour la découvrir entièrement.
From Place Turenne, take the André Rebsomen alley to admire the Villa Theresa, then at the end of the street, immediately turn left into the Stella alley.
At the entrance of the driveway, you will find this magnificent villa, originally intended for rental.
The entrepreneur Pierre Blavy bought it in 1889 and had it rebuilt on the plans of Marcel Ormières. The tower with belvedere dates from this period.
The villa successively bore the names of Nadine, her original name, then Shakespeare, Velasquez, and became Sigurd in 1892 in reference to the Scandinavian mythology which inspired the opera (Sigurd, 1885) by French composer Louis Etienne Ernest Reyer. > The villa changed hands several times to become today a condominium.

LA VILLA "STELLA"
Cette villa est malheureusement peu visible si l'on n'a pas le cou du curieux...
Construite sur des terrains vendus par la Compagnie du Midi à des banquiers charentais, la villa et ses dépendances sont acquises en 1870.
Lorsque Adolphe de Lanefranque en devient propriétaire en 1892, il la fait restructurer par Jules de Miramont.
Elle comporte alors quatre niveaux formant une superficie d'environ 500m2 avec une tour-belvédère offrant une vue exceptionnelle sur le bassin.
Ici aussi, le style hispano-mauresque prédomine. La villa à été entièrement restaurée en 2000.

Built on land sold by the Compagnie du Midi to Charentais bankers, the villa and its outbuildings were acquired in 1870.
When Adolphe de Lanefranque became its owner in 1892, he had it restructured by Jules de Miramont.
It then comprises four levels forming an area of approximately 500m2 with a belvedere tower offering an exceptional view of the basin.
Here too, the Hispano-Moorish style predominates. The villa was completely restored in 2000.
LA VILLA "HUMBOLDT"
Tout au bout de l'allée Stella, découvrez la villa Humboldt. Son nom fait référence à l'explorateur et naturaliste allemand (1769-1859).
Datant de 1864, la villa sera alimentée en eau courante quelques années plus tard avec la création de pièces humides que l'on peut apercevoir sur les cotés de la maison.
La villa, propriété de la "Société Immobilière" est achetée par l'ingénieur des Ponts et Chaussées Léon Saby. Vers 1930, elle est baptisée "Les Farfadets".
Elle a récemment repris son nom d'origine.
At the end of the Stella alley, discover the Humboldt villa. Its name refers to the German explorer and naturalist (1769-1859).
Dating from 1864, the villa will be supplied with running water a few years later with the creation of wet rooms that can be seen on the sides of the house.
The villa, property of the "Société Immobilière" is purchased by the engineer from Ponts et Chaussées Léon Saby. Around 1930, it was baptized "Les Farfadets".
It recently resumed its original name.
LA VILLA "MORAND"
Face à vous se trouve le boulevard Victor Hugo... Située au 40 avenue Victor Hugo, cette superbe villa construite vers 1899 est reconnaissable à sa tourelle.
Elle s'est enrichie d'une aile sur la partie gauche. Quelques bois découpés sous le toit ont été éliminés, la grande fenêtre à été modifiée, mais elle reste quand même bien préservée.
Opposite you is Boulevard Victor Hugo ... Located at 40 Avenue Victor Hugo, this superb villa built around 1899 is recognizable by its turret.
It has been enriched with a wing on the left side. Some wood cut under the roof has been eliminated, the large window has been modified, but it is still well preserved.
LA VILLA "BEATRIX"
Située au 38 avenue Victor Hugo, cette magnifique villa fut construite vers 1900 par l'architecte Jules de Miramont pour sa femme Beatrix von Waldegg Münchenstein.
Admirez les épis de faîtage et les bois découpés. Un escalier de pierres donne accès à un perron à balustres abrité sous un auvent à deux pentes.
Pour la découvrir, il suffit de parcourir l'avenue Victor Hugo jusqu'à l'avenue Gambetta.
Lorsque la végétation est abondante, on admire quand même cette belle villa, qui fut un temps pension de famille.

Admire the finials and the cut woods. A stone staircase gives access to the porch with balusters sheltered under a two-slope awning.
To discover it, just walk along avenue Victor Hugo until avenue Gambetta.
When the vegetation is abundant, we still admire this beautiful villa, which was once a family pension.
LA VILLA "MIMOSA"
Revenez en arriere sur l'avenue Victor Hugo en longeant la villa Humboldt jusqu'a Sigurd.
Avant de tourner sur votre gauche sur l'allée Sarraméa, observez au carrefour la villa Mimosa, qui devint villa Stora en 1930.
Le terrain de cette villa est si vaste qu'elle donne sur trois rues. Ici, le portail principal est à l'angle de l'avenue Victor Hugo et de l'allée Sarraméa.
L'entrée officielle est sur l'allée Stora qui se trouve à l'arrière gauche de cette villa.
C'était une villa immense avec un parc avec des arbres tropicaux. La villa à l'origine se dénommait Villa Stora, d'où le nom de la rue éponyme.
Go back on Avenue Victor Hugo along Villa Humboldt to Sigurd.
Before turning on your left on Sarraméa alley, observe at the crossroads the villa Mimosa, which became villa Stora in 1930.
The land of this villa is so vast that it overlooks three streets. Here, the main portal is at the corner of avenue Victor Hugo and allée Sarraméa.
The official entrance is on Allée Stora which is at the rear left of this villa.
It was a huge villa with a park with tropical trees. The villa originally was called Villa Stora, hence the name of the eponymous street.
