Geocache Description:

17 January 2021, 13:00 - 15:00

Sox and i have decided to tweak the W6 event. i was awarded a community event, and since the pandemic is still a concern for all of us, we are gong to move the event outside and welcome you all to the Waterville Winter Weekend Waypoint Warrior Wingding.....

ON ICE!

Ice Skating Community Event
Johnson Pond on the Colby Campus
Campus Drive, Waterville Maine
1:00pm to 3:00 pm

While we are not meeting at the usual place- yeah, i know, and lucky Waterville starts with a W too- this will be the seventeenth annual W6 event that was started by WhereRWe? & RULOST2? By attending and logging the event online you will earn the community event souvenir given out by Geocaching.

Bring your ice skates, some lunch and a folding chair- there are no amenities that i know of available at the pond, so please plan accordingly. Skating is at your own risk, both with your own capabilities and your assessment of the condition of the ice. In case of severe weather and/ or driving conditions, i may postpone the event for a week until January 24, 2021 and will post any announcements on this page.

We must also adhere to the current state guidelines: the gathering must be limited to 100 people or less. Attendees must be residents of Maine or one of the other states now allowed by the governor, have quarantined for 14 days, or have a negative covid test within 72 hours of this event. A mask is required when social distancing is not maintained. Please post your will attend so we can better estimate the attendance.

There will be no notebook for a log, so please socially distance from Sox (you can't miss him, he would be the other telephone pole) or i (bets on if i wear my usual garb?) and introduce yourself so we know who has arrived. there are no door prizes or other take home items. i would caution the transfer of travel bugs or any other items; i certainly will not be accepting any items personally.

Hope to see you all there!
