The Haunted Halloween Heist is a Community Celebration, family-friendly mystery & scavenger hunt event that will take place rain or shine.
Date: Saturday, October 2, 2021
Time: 1:00 – 3:00 pm
Location: Bald Mt. Rec. Area, Lake Orion, MI by the Pavilions which are visible from the parking lot
Important details:
- Please bring a tombstone with your geo-name / made up name on it somewhere (tag, marker, etc.). Preference would be one per person but one per team will be accepted. The tombstones may be made out of a cereal box, wood, etc. or purchased from a dollar store.
- You are HIGHLY encouraged to dress-up Halloween style – KID FRIENDLY PLEASE.
- Bring something to collect the scavenger hunt items such as a pillowcase, grocery bag, trick-or-treat pumpkin, etc.
- Due to unknown possible allergy / covid restrictions, please bring your own lunch & non-alcoholic beverage (having a meal together allows characters to get to know each other).
- If you’d like to bring a bag of candy for the kids, it would be appreciated – but not required.
- Picnic tables (and bathrooms) will be available – but feel free to bring a lawn chair.
- The scavenger hunt will take place on hiking trails – please wear appropriate footwear and bring any bug/tick spray you feel necessary.
- Each person will have a role to play – it is suggested you plan on attending the entire event.
- If you don’t want to participate in the scavenger hunt but want to attend the event – feel free to join us.
- Feel free to invite muggle friends.
- Please let me know how many will be attending with your “will attend” note.
- Please “watch” this posting so you will receive any updates as necessary.

NOTE: A state of Michigan DNR Recreation pass is required to enter the park. The main entrance is located off of M24 – Lapeer Rd. If the gates are closed, please use the entrance off of E. Greenshield Rd located on the south side of the road (not located at the ranger station which is where google GPS will lead you if you enter the park address).
I am in need of a few volunteers for set-up/clean-up the day of the event. Please send me a private message if you would be interested in helping – ONLY if you don’t want to participate in the scavenger hunt.
