L'idée de cette Izy vint pendant la terrible période de confinement mondial du printemps 2020. Les jeux de de lettres sont des jeux de société ou des casse-tête utilisés pour occuper les longues veillées d'hiver ... qui occupèrent les longues journées de confinement.
C'est finalement très proche de l'histoire de l'architecte new-yorkais Alfred Mosher Butts, contraint au chômage par la crise de 1929, qui créa deux ans plus tard une première version d'un jeu dénommée « Lexiko ». Butts imagina une distribution de 100 lettres à partir de la première page d'un exemplaire du New York Times. Le succès arriva seulement en 1952 quand, selon la légende, le président de Macy's (le plus grand magasin de New York), ayant découvert ce jeu pendant ses vacances, entre en colère lorsqu'il s'aperçoit que le jeu est absent de ses rayons. Le jeu devient à la mode et passe à la postérité.
La principale difficulté associée à ce type de jeu est la base de référence. Les joueurs doivent s'entendre sur le choix d'un dictionnaire, accepter ou non les abréviations, les formes conjuguées, les mots composés, les mots étrangers et les noms propres...

Ainsi est née l'idée de placer les caches qui ont suivi sous le signe du "VERT" et de proposer un challenge consistant à y déposer de préférence des objets "VERTs". Ce challenge ne peut malheureusement pas concerner les caches de taille nano ou micro.
