We've been looking for another cache spot in our neighborhood. We came across this spot during one of our COVID lockdown sanity walks trying to avoid the crowds.
This is the second teamdassie cache and we want to continue the dassie theme. Dassie is the coloquial Afrikaans name for rock hyrax. They are adorable rabbit sized, rodent-looking creatures who live in groups in rock crevices. They are, however, not rodents at all but rather belong to the Paenungulata clade, which includes elephants and manatees as their closest living relatives.
Bonus rock hyrax facts:
* they have the softest little rubbery paws, without any claws (but nails, like elephants have)
* baby rock hyrax eat their parents' poop to get the right bacteria into their systems
This cache is a small camouflaged pill canister (push and twist to open). It should be obvious where to look when you're at GZ.
Small trackables should fit.
Cheers, teamdassie
