Geocache Description:

Lexington's Department of Environmental Quality and Public Works has hidden 12 geocaches around Lexington. These geocaches draw attention to water quality topics in our city. The goal is to highlight greenspaces, water quality infrastructure projects, local creeks and other points of interest. Geocaches include locations related to Lexington's Stormwater Incentive Grant Program, our annual Reforest the Bluegrass tree planting event, and the Citizens’ Environmental Academy. Visit all 12 sites to learn about what Lexington is doing and what you can do to keep our local water clean. For more information visit the city's website: LexingtonKY.gov/Geocaching.

Each hidden cache contains a unique button for you to collect. Collect all 12 to get a limited edition T-shirt. Once you have found them all, email a picture of the buttons to LiveGreen@LexingtonKY.gov

Raven Run provides a great place for hiking and wildlife viewing.  Ten miles of trails pass through meadows, woodlands and streams characteristic of the inner Bluegrass. This geocache is hidden along the Green trail and is generally an easy walk for most visitors.

Visitors must sign-in at the Nature Center trailhead. Raven Run’s hours vary throughout the season, please check before planning visit. No pets are allowed at the nature sanctuary.

Along this trail you can see Raven Run's Prather House. The majority of what is now Raven Run was owned by the Prather family in the early 1800's. The homestead includes a historic home, cemetery, and smokehouse, which can be seen as you continue along the trail.

Received landowner permission to place the cache. LFUCG Parks and Recreation Code: RR44.
