The event lasts from 11 AM to 1 PM. We will be in the covered, outdoor picnic area beside the restaurant. You can drop in just to sign the log or stay longer to eat or visit. The restaurant is CASH ONLY, and everyone will be responsible for their own meal. Bring your trackables to swap. There will also be some door prizes.
The circustances of the past year and a half prevented us from getting together in February to sign Valentine cards for the residents of the Western Kentucky Veterans Center in Hanson, Kentucky, but we have a second chance to show our appreciation before this year is over. We'll pass around cards; and anyone who would like, can write a message before we deliver them the week of Veterans Day on November 11th.
As we have at past Share the Love events, we will also collect any donations you would like to send to the Veterans. Donations are not required for logging attendence at the event. The Activities Director has said they are NOT ACCEPTING BIRDSEED at this time, but they could use other donations. They would like individually wrapped snacks: Swiss rolls, oatmeal cream pies, soft sugar-free candy, Cheez It crackers, Cheetos Puffs, Skinny Pop Popcorn - but nothing which is hard to chew or has nuts or sprinkles. They would like sodas: Orange Crush, Nehi Grape, Diet Coke or Diet Dr. Pepper were specifically mentioned. Greeting cards which the residents can send to their family or friends would also be appreciated.
