Am 1. Oktober 2022 findet in Deutschland und der Schweiz der bundesweite Astronomietag statt. Sternwarten, Vereine, Planetarien, Forschungsinstitute und Amateurastronom*innen öffnen Ihre Pforten, damit jeder einmal den Sternhimmel live erleben kann – zentral koordiniert von der Vereinigung der Sternfreunde e.V. Zusätzlich finden vom 1. bis zum 4. Oktober weltweit die 100 Stunden Astronomie der Internationalen Astronomischen Union und am 1. Oktober 2022 die International Observe The Moon Night statt.
Der Astronomietag steht in diesem Jahr unter dem Motto "Faszinierende Mondwelten im Sonnensystem". Am Abend des 1. Oktobers 2022 steht der zunehmende Mond tief im Westen, während die beiden Planeten Jupiter und Saturn im Südosten aufgehen. Im Gegensatz zu den öffentlichen Astronomietag-Veranstaltungen, die anderswo angeboten werden, möchten wir uns an diesem Tag exklusiv mit der Geocaching-Gemeinde an der Fischkinderstube in Edingen-Neckarhausen treffen, wo man recht gute Horizontsicht hat, und mit euch gemeinsam die beiden Gasplaneten mit ihren Monden und den Erdmond mit unseren transportablen Teleskopen von dort aus beobachten. Außerdem warten nicht nur unsere unser Großer Wagen und unsere kleine und große Sternkarte darauf endlich discovert zu werden, es gibt natürlich auch jede Menge Gelegenheit alte und neue Bekannte zu treffen. Vielleicht gibt es ja auch noch den einen oder anderen Cache in der Nähe, den ihr noch nicht gefunden habt?
Sollte das Wetter nicht mitspielen und der Himmel bewölkt sein oder es gar regnen, ziehen wir uns unter das Sonnensegel zurück und schauen uns per Beamer und Leinwand an, was uns sonst als Anblick im Teleskop erwartet hätte. Zieht euch aber bitte in jedem Fall warm an, es wird zu dieser Jahreszeit abends schnell kalt! Bitte benutzt in der Nähe der Event-Location keine hellen Taschenlampen, damit niemand beim Blick durch Teleskop geblendet wird. Ideal sind Rotlicht-Kopflampen.
Corona ist nicht vorbei. Dies ist ein Outdoor-Event und wird basierend auf den Regelungen der aktuell gültigen Corona-Verordnung des Landes Baden-Württemberg durchgeführt bzw. kann wegen geänderter Vorgaben auch kurzfristig abgesagt werden. Im Moment (Stand 04.09.2022) gibt es keine Auflagen, wir bitten euch aber dennoch, im Zweifelsfalle lieber Vorsicht walten zu lassen.

1 October 2022 is National Astronomy Day in Germany and Switzerland. Observatories, amateur associations, planetariums, research institutes and astronomy enthusiasts invite te general public to experience the night sky - centrally coordinated by the Vereinigung der Sternfreunde e.V. Additionally the 100 Hours of Astronomy of the International Astronomical Union will take place worldwide from 1 to 4 October 2022, and the International Observe The Moon Night on 1 October 2022.
The motto of this year's Astronomy Day is "Fascinating lunar worlds in the solar system". In the evening of 1 October 2022, the waxing crescent Moon can be seen obove the horizon in the west, while the two planets Jupiter and Saturn rise in the southeast. While this is not a public Astronomy Day event, we would like to meet exclusively with the geocaching community at the Fischkinderstube in Edingen-Neckarhausen, where we have a good view down to the horizon, and observe the two gas giants with their moons and the our Moon with our mobile telescopes from there together with you. Our Big Dipper as well as the small and large planisphere are waiting for you to be discovered, and there are of course a lot of opportunities to meet old and new friends. And maybe there are some caches in the area you haven't found yet?
If the weather is bad and the sky is cloudy or it is raining, we will retreat under the tarp and show you via beamer and screen what we would otherwise have seen in the telescopes. Dress up accordingly in any case, it gets cold quickly in the evening at this time of year! Please don't use bright flashlights close to the event location in order to avoid blinding observers. Red head lamps are best suited.
Corona is not over. This is an outdoor event and will adhere to the regulations currently in the State of Baden-Württemberg. It thus can be cancelled at short notice due to changes in these measures. As of 04.09.2022, there are no regulations, but we still ask you to exercise caution in case of doubt.
