Welcome to the 4-H Children's Garden Community Event
designed to introduce you to geocaching and the MSU Gardens.
The coordinates will take you to the MSU Horticulture Gardens parking lot. Parking is free for this event.
Geocaching 101 will begin promptly at 10 AM in room B109 Plant and Soil Sciences. Follow signs from the parking lot. At this part of the event there will be a power point presentation introducing you to geocaching, along with samples of geocaches, and plenty of helpful hints. If you miss this session, it cannot be repeated, so please arrive on time. There will be loaner Garmin GPS units that will be preloaded with the caches. You can also use your phone, but you must first set up a Geocaching.com account and have a geocache app already downloaded.
At 10:30 we will head to the 4H Childrens Garden Amphitheater where the corodinates for the geoocaches will be passed out. Hopefully the caches will also be published at that time. There will be new caches to be found in the 4H Childrens Garden, the Judith A. DuLapa Perennial Garden, the Florence A. Carter Annual Trial Garden, and 2 in the Clarence E. Lewis Arboretum.
If you are an experienced cacher, I hope you will volunteer to help a new cacher find their very first cache.
*Everyone who attends this event and finds and logs the caches on this day may claim first to finds on any and all new garden caches.
You are also welcome to bring a picnic lunch and hang around to talk caching and trade or discover Travel Bugs.
