Autumn in Oakwoods: 🎬GIFF & Community Celebration Community Celebration Event

Please join us for an Oakwoods matinee version of the Geocaching International Film Festival. Enjoy a viewing of the geocaching film finalists that were chosen for their creativity, production quality, and contribution to the global geocaching community. After signing the logbook and grabbing some popcorn, we will watch the films and take a group photo.  The films will run for approximately one hour. 

We will have ballots for an informal fan favorite vote of the films and a raffle for some prizes too.   There will also be an FTF drawing for a few new caches.  Afterward, we will (COVID responsibly) socialize and celebrate 20+ years of geocaching and the reopening of the nature center (and its new exhibits).   

Because this is an indoor event, masks are recommended at this event, whether you are vaccinated or not.

Community Celebration Events - 2020
This Event is part of a limited release of Community Celebration Events to celebrate 20 years of geocaching. Geocachers hosted events between May 2, 2020 and December 31, 2022. Learn more about Community Celebration Events on the Geocaching Blog.

This event is located in Oakwoods Metropark. A Metroparks vehicle permit is required for entry to the parks: $10 daily pass, $40 annual pass, $29 annual seniors pass. All park rules and regulations apply. Please park in parking lots only. For general information please call 810-227-2752, or visit www.metroparks.com. Dogs on a leash are NOT allowed in this section of the park. The park hours are 6 am - dusk.

A Metropark geocaching permit has been filed and approved by Kevin Arnold (Southern District Interpretive Supervisor).
