Geocache Description:

The Colo River Grumpy® Power Trail

Hope you're not grumpy, cheer up; you are getting closer to the end. Hang in there!

The Colo River

The Colo River is a well kept secret mainly known by locals and regular visitors. The river is unique as it is a pristine and wild river on the border of Sydney, only 1.5 hours (65 kms) from the CBD.

The name “Colo” is derived from the aboriginal word for Koala.

The river was one of the first explored following white settlement of Australia and has a long history that is of significance to the local aborigines and the white settlers alike. It is the home of bass and platypus.

The river descends 214 metres over its 86-km course, and is fantastic for canoeing, bushwalking and swimming.

Enjoy!

The Danube River

The Danube is Europe's second longest river, after the Volga. It is located in Central and Eastern Europe. The Danube was once a long-standing frontier of the Roman Empire, and today flows through 10 countries, more than any other river in the world. Its drainage basin extends into nine more countries.

Since ancient times, the Danube has become a traditional trade route in Europe. Today, 2,415 km (1,501 mi) of its total length are navigable. The river is also an important source of hydropower and drinking water.
