Geocache Description:

The posted coordinates are just a place to sit and work the puzzle....in case you forgot to do that before you left home. This puzzle can be a bit time consuming but there are plenty of places around to sit, relax, have a bite to eat or a cocktail or two while you work on it. I am NOT good at these kinds of puzzles and it took me almost two hours to complete it. Hopefully you will find it easier.

THE PUZZLE IS AVAILABLE UNDER THE GALLERY AND CAN BE PRINTED OUT FOR YOUR USE, as I continue to try to figure out how to include it in the body of the cache. (I didn't want to hold the publication of this cache up any longer.)

I need to thank slamere72 for her assistance with this puzzle. She is the queen of logic puzzles and when I asked her to create one for me, she gladly stepped up. I did ask her to have it include past presidents since it was to be released right around Presidents Day 2020, but that was the extent of my help. (I also had an event to kick this off, where we solved it as a group; sorry you missed it!) So put on your thinking hats, and good luck. Here we go!

PRESIDENTS' DAY MIX UP

It was a dark and stormy night.  Actually, it was  a sunny, calm day up until the moment of this crazy event.  You see, a very strange thing happened just a few minutes ago.  Five former US presidents mysteriously appeared at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History in Washington DC. They have no idea how they got there and strangely enough, their things got mixed up.  In fact, everything is mixed up...even their money. You see, Washington is no longer on the $1 bill.  Someone else is.  None of the presidents are on the correct bill.  Help them by figuring out which room each of them appeared in, determining which US currency the mysterious event put them on, and figuring out who has which of the prized items as nobody has his own item. Also, no items from an individual president ended up together.  Time is of the essence.  Hurry!

  1. The president that appeared near the mummy exhibit and in the rotunda are not on the $2 bill and do not have the Lincoln log.
  2. The president that has the Wahoo jersey is on a smaller bill than the president with the Irish flag.
  3. Washington is on neither the largest bill nor the smallest one.
  4. Neither the president on the $5 bill nor the president on the $50 bill were checking out the Hope Diamond and were not in the Hall of Fossils.
  5. Even though the age old question is "Who is buried in Grant's tomb?", Grant does not have the tomb keychain.  By the way, Hiram and his wife are interred in a mausoleum rather than "buried".  Also, he has neither the wooden teeth nor the Wahoo jersey.
  6. Did you know that Thomas Jefferson founded the University of Virginia?  They are the Cavaliers, although they are known by another name too...Wahoos.  Jefferson was in neither the rotunda nor the butterfly pavilion.
  7. Jackson was either in the Hall of Fossils or checking out the mummies.  He also did not have the Irish flag even though his parents came to the US two years before he was born.
  8. The president that is on the $20 was neither in the rotunda nor checking out the Hope Diamond.  Also, he had either the Irish flag or the tomb keychain.
  9. Grant is neither on the three largest bills nor is he in the Hall of Fossils or looking at the mummies.  Also, he does not have the Irish flag.
  10. The president that is in the butterfly pavilion is on the $20 bill.
  11. Either the president looking at the Hope Diamond or in the Hall of Fossils has the Wahoo jersey.
  12. The president looking at the Hope Diamond is not on the smallest bill.
  13. Washington is either in the rotunda or admiring the mummies.  Also, he has either the Irish flag or the tomb keychain.

The high difficulty rating is for the puzzle and not for the actual hide itself.  If you didn't have to solve the puzzle first, the actual hide would probably only be a 1.5 so keep that in mind when searching.  Permission for the hide was granted by Diane Rhines of Journey Ministries.
