Black Hills Community Celebration Event
Another Community Celebration for "ALL" geocachers to celebrate 20 years of geocaching. This event is open to "ALL" geocachers. Doesn't matter if you've been geocaching the 20 years, or if you've only been geocaching 20 days. 20,000 finds, or just 2 finds, you're still welcomed to join. The event will be 2 hours long, but you can enjoy the park for as long as you want, or even just stop by for a quick hello.

IMPORTANT INFO: Park is open sunrise to sunset, and there is "NO FEE" to enter the park. PAY ATTENTION to the speed limit, as police are there at certain times with radar.
At the location of this event, there are no pavilions, so we pray to the Geo-God to bring us some nice weather. Rain, snow or shine, the event will be held. Did I say snow? The earliest measurable snowfall in both the Baltimore - Washington, DC area, was recorded on October 10, 1979, so yes, it could snow. Talking of snow, means winter and Christmas. Maybe Christmas is coming early this year?
There is no camping at Black Hills, but the park has more than 2,000 acres of land for recreation and family gatherings. Enjoy the views of Little Seneca Lake. Boat rentals are closed for the season, but you can bring your own, but you must purchase a daily permit for $5 online on THE DAY OF YOUR TRIP.
There are over 20 miles of trails for hiking, biking, horseback riding, AND GEOCACHING. There are playgrounds, volleyball courts, and a half acre dog park. Many areas of the park are ADA accessible, so people of all ages, interests, and abilities can enjoy it.
You can also enjoy the Black Hill Visitor Center which is open 10 am - 5 pm on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Here's a link to the visitor center:https://montgomeryparks.org/parks-and-trails/black-hill-nature-programs/
