Ramsey Ramble - A Community Celebration Event
You are invited to join us at the War Memorial next to the Courthouse on Parliament Street, Ramsey, from 3pm for our Community Celebration Event.
We love some geonatter and there haven’t been many opportunities over the last few months. We hope to catch up with some of the “old hands” at geocaching but also extend a warm welcome to new names that have been appearing recently. Come along and join us and perhaps find the answers to some of your geocaching questions.
As this is one of a limited release of special events, we will also be offering some free optional activities for anyone who wants to join in.
Prize Draw: We have been given some trackable tags to distribute amongst the geocaching community. If you would like a chance to win one, please collect a free raffle ticket from us during the event (one per team). The draw will be made near the end time of the event and the winning numbers announced as they are drawn and on the cache page.
Treasure Hunt: If you fancy a stroll around the town, we are offering a treasure hunt. We will provide printed sheets with a list and a map of locations and a question to answer at each one. The locations of the clues and the questions will also appear as waypoints on this page during the event for those who prefer a “live” map. (The waypoints will be hidden until then). The walk takes approximately 1 hour and is all on paved roads/footpaths.
Visit each waypoint, in any order. At each location, answer the question to find a number. Each number will form part of a set of co-ordinates. Collect all the numbers to solve N54 AB.CDE W004 FG.HJK.
Buffet: The Treasure Hunt solution reveals the location of a buffet which will be provided after the event. Don’t worry if you are unable, or don’t wish, to complete the treasure hunt. We will reveal the location near the end of the event so you will still be able to join us for the buffet. It’s just a short walk from the event location.
We will also make an announcement and reveal the location of the buffet on the cache page near the end of the event. We don’t want anyone to miss out because they got lost!
Can we please ask that everyone who wishes to join us for the buffet mentions it in a 'Will Attend' log AT LEAST a week before the event. Anyone with any special dietary needs should mention it in their log OR message us via the message system AT LEAST one week in advance.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we are also asking attendees to fill in this short form in case Track and Trace measures need to be carried out. REGISTRATION FORM.
