Où sommes-nous ?

Dans une ancienne carrière de granite, dans le massif du Luzy près de la ville du même nom.

Definition

Le granite est une roche éruptive d'une grande dureté, formée par l'association homogène de trois minéraux : quartz, feldspath à potasse (teneur en cette matière fertilisante, 6,5 %) et mica.

Localement

Cependant, dans la région de Luzy, elle est relativement altérable, le feldspath se désagrégeant facilement. Cela s’explique par le fait qu’elle soit formée par de gros grains, et peut même se transformer en arène ou sable, employée par les maçons du pays pour faire leur mortier.

Where are we?

In an old granite quarry, in the Luzy massif near the town of the same name.

Definition

Granite is a very hard eruptive rock, formed by the homogeneous association of three minerals: quartz, potash feldspar (content of this fertilizing material, 6.5%) and mica.

Locally

However, in the Luzy region, it is relatively alterable, the feldspar easily disintegrating. This is explained by the fact that it is formed by large grains, and can even turn into an arena or sand, used by masons of the country to make their mortar.
