TUBE SideTracked – Tottenham Court Road
In preparing for the Queen Elizabeth Line (or the “Cross-Rail"), Tottenham Court Road had a major facelift and, at time of placing, is undergoing major extension work. The main hall to the underground station is panelled and decorated anew. The hall is open small hours of Saturday and Sundsy a.m. as well, as the Central Line runs a night service Fridays and Saturdays.
The decoration scheme is driven by two shapes, housed in a glass display in the hall. The yellow one in the display has A sides and the blue one B sides. There are C rows of white panels above the glass, before reaching the blue above.
There are various pillars in the hall, with D blue strips each encircling them.
Towards the back, where the stairs to Exits 3 and 4 are, the stripy panels are made up of E white strips. There are superimposed by colourful copies of shapes in the glass display.
Once you have done the counting, you would be ready to go on to the cache. It is a little one, shyly hidden on a pavement here: N51°30.E(E+B)D, W000°07.(E-B)(AxC)(A+B+C). Muggle avoidance skills could be required, as are tweezers.
