ABBA Gold is a series of nineteen puzzles, plus a bonus, inspired by the song titles on ABBA's best-selling album, "Gold: Greatest Hits". The caches form a circuit of roughly five miles, on some pleasant footpaths around Pirbright. Be prepared for wet and muddy conditions!
ABBA were formed in my home country, Sweden in 1972, but it was their Eurovision Song Contest victory with "Waterloo" in 1974, that launched them into superstardom.
They became one of the most successful acts in the history of popular music, topping the charts worldwide for almost 10 years. Thanks, in part, to the massively successful "Mamma Mia!" musical and films, their popularity endures today.
Since it's release in 1992, ABBA have sold 30 million copies of "Gold". Here in the UK, it's topped the albums chart on five separate occasions, and is the second highest selling album of all time - surpassed only by Queen's "Greatest Hits".
This series of caches is my tribute to Agnetha, Björn, Benny and Anni-Frid. Thank you for the music!
